About Carina

Carina came to the Mammoth Track Club in summer 2021 after graduating from the University of Arkansas. She represents her home country of South Africa where in high school she was 11-time South Africa National Champion on the track and in cross country.
In 2023, Carina represented South Africa in the 1500m at the World Outdoor Championships in Budapest and, the World Road Championships Mile in Latvia.
She has represented Team South Africa in the World Youth Track & Field Championships and the World Cross Country Championships. In Mammoth, she has been adapting well to altitude, and has the Mammoth Track Club mile record which says a lot since we've had Olympic middle distance runners in the past. Carina has had the privilege of seeing bears at the lakes while soaking her legs. On a light training day you'll find her hiking in Yosemite.
NCAA Career
Carina majored in accounting and is an All-American from the University of Arkansas. She was part of the Razorback team who earned a perfect score at the NCAA regional meet. A reliable championship runner, Carina helped the Razorbacks earn 4 consecutive SEC team titles.
